 Brent McKeon, BSc.Brent McKeon graduated from the University of Natal in 1964 with a B.SC he then worked at Lever Brothers and the City Engineer’s Durban laboratories as a Works and Development Chemist. Later he joined a Chemical Indent Agency where he was the Market Development Manager. He was then appointed National Marketing Manager for Unilever Chemical Company in the Oleochemicals Division. He spent nine years involved in the product and market development of Silicate products and imported a range of chemicals from associated Unilever Companies in Europe. In 1979 he joined Smithchem, part of the then C.G.Sugar Group as Marketing Manager, both National and International for the Furfural plant and the soon to be commissioned Furfuryl Alcohol Plant. The products were successfully marketed and developed worldwide and within the next three years the two plant capacities were increased three-fold to cater for Smithchem’s market penetration. Brent spent 11 years marketing Illovo Sugar’s furfural based products developing the worldwide network which is still unchanged. He then had three years experience as the Business Development Manager and spent another three years in the sugar division of the holding company as industrial marketing manager for Southern Africa. Today Illovo’s Furfural and Furfuryl Alcohol plants continue to be successful in worldwide markets as a result of Brent’s contacts, agents, and the distribution systems implemented by him. Brent currently has his own marketing consulting company, it’s activities include development projects, technical marketing consulting and acting as an agent for niche performance chemicals in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. Brent is a founding member of the DalinYebo Group and DalinYebo Investments CC as well as a founding director of DalinYebo Trading and Development (Pty) Ltd and International Furan Technology (Pty) Ltd. Specialities: Brent is a successful marketer with a practical knowledge of distribution and storage in many countries.· He is an experienced technical marketer and development manager working in the chemical industry. · Furfural and Furfuryl Alcohol technology, he has all his contacts in these markets and keeps them updated. · Knowledge of worldwide importing and exporting. · He has the ability to successfully interact with people and is experienced in negotiating with many nationalities in the setting up of the worldwide distribution systems and the marketing of technical products to world markets. |
